Google သည္ ၎၏ Chrome web browser မွ extensions ႏွစ္ခုကို ဖယ္ရွားခဲ့သည္။ ၎တို႔သည္ အသံုးျပဳသူမ်ားထံသို႔ malware မ်ား ပို႔လႊတ္ေပးခဲ့ေသာေၾကာင့္ ျဖစ္သည္။ ထို malicious ads မ်ားသည္ ၎ extensions မ်ားကို မူလ developers မ်ားထံမွ လႊဲေျပာင္း၀ယ္ယူခံရၿပီး စတင္ေပၚေပါက္ခဲ့ျခင္းျဖစ္ သည္။

Google Chrome အသံုးျပဳသူမ်ားသည္ ၎တို႔၏web အေတြ႕အႀကံဳမ်ားကိုextension မ်ားျဖင့္ ျပဳျပင္ မြမ္းမံတိုးခ်ဲ႕ႏိုင္ၾက ျခင္းျဖစ္သည္။ ၎တို႔သည္web browsers မ်ားအတြက္applsမ်ားသာျဖစ္ၾက သည္။

မၾကာေသးမီက တားျမစ္ပိတ္ပင္ခဲ့ေသာextension ႏွစ္ခုမွာ Add to Feedly ႏွင့္ Tweet This Pageတို႔ျဖစ္ၾကၿပီး ၎တို႔သည္ တစ္ခုခ်င္းစီ၌ အသံုးျပဳသူေလးငါးေထာင္ခန္႔ရွိၾကသည္။၎extensionမ်ားကို မူလ developers မ်ားထံမွ မၾကာေသးမီကမွ လႊဲေျပာင္း၀ယ္ယူခံခဲ့ရျခင္းျဖစ္ၿပီး ပိုင္ရွင္အသစ္မ်ား သည္ Chrome ၏ feature တစ္ခုျဖစ္ေသာ အသံုးျပဳသူမ်ားကို အသိေပးစရာမလိုဘဲ developers မ်ား က ၎တို႔၏ extensions မ်ားကို update ျပဳလုပ္ႏိုင္ေသာ ယင္း feature ကို အခြင့္ေကာင္းယူ အသံုးခ် ခဲ့ၾကျခင္းျဖစ္သည္။ ၎ update မ်ားျဖင့္ ထို extensions မ်ားထံသို႔ malware ads မ်ား ထည့္သြင္းေပး လိုက္ျခင္းျဖစ္သည္။

၎တို႔သည္ web စာမ်က္ႏွာေပၚတြင္ ေတြ႕ျမင္ေနက် banner ads ႐ိုး႐ိုးမွ်သာမဟုတ္ဘဲ ၎တို႔သည္ ေနာက္ခံမ်ားမွ မျမင္ရႏိုင္ဘဲ အလုပ္လုပ္ေသာ ads မ်ား ျဖစ္ၾကသည္။ ထိုသို႔ျဖင့္ သင္သြားေရာက္လည္ပတ္ေသာေနရာတြင္ ၎ႏွင့္အေပါင္းအပါ links မ်ားကို အစားထိုးေပးလိုက္ျခင္းျဖစ္သည္ဟု Add to Feedly ၏ မူလ developer Amit Agarwal က ေျပာၾကားသည္။ ရွင္းလင္းစြားေျပာရရင္မူ ထို exten- sion ကို active လုပ္လိုက္သည္ႏွင့္ web စာမ်က္ႏွာအားလံုးသို႔ adware မ်ား ပို႔လႊတ္လိုက္မည္ျဖစ္ သည္။

Agarwal သည္ သူ႔အား ေငြေၾကးကိန္းဂဏန္းေလးလံုးခန္႔ပမာဏကို လာေပးေသာအခါ သူ၏ ထို software ကို ေရာင္းခ်ရန္ ဆံုးျဖတ္ခဲ့ျခင္းျဖစ္သည္။ ထိုသို႔ေရာင္းခ်အၿပီး တစ္လခန္႔အၾကာတြင္ Add to Feedly မွာ malware မ်ား စတင္ထုတ္လႊတ္လာျခင္းျဖစ္သည္။

“Chrome ၏ add-on မ်ားကို ေရာင္းခ်ရတာ သိပ္အဆင္မေျပတဲ့အလုပ္ပါ။ သင္ဟာ အခုလက္ရွိ အသံုး ျပဳသူျဖစ္ေနတယ္ဆိုရင္ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ စိတ္မေကာင္းပါဘူး”ဟု သူက ဆိုသည္။

Add to Feedly ႏွင့္ Tweet This Page တို႔သည္ malware မ်ား ထုတ္လႊင့္ရန္ မူလပိုင္ရွင္မ်ားထံမွ ၀ယ္ယူခံရေသာ တစ္ခုတည္းေသာ Chrome extension မ်ား မဟုတ္ႏိုင္ေပ။ တျခား Chrome extension တစ္ခုျဖစ္ေသာ Honey ၏ developer မ်ားသည္လည္း ထုိသို႔ေသာရည္ရြယ္ခ်က္ျဖင့္ ၎တို႔ လည္း ခ်ဥ္းကပ္ခံရဖူးေၾကာင္း ေျပာသည္။

Honey ၏ developer မ်ားက ေျပာၾကားရာတြင္ ၿပီးခဲ့ေသာႏွစ္အတြင္းတြင္ ၎တို႔၏ extension ကို ၀ယ္ယူရန္ ႀကိဳးပမ္းေသာ malware ကုမၸဏီမ်ား၊ အသံုးျပဳသူမ်ား၏အခ်က္အလက္မ်ားကို ၀ယ္ယူရန္ ႀကိဳးပမ္းသည့္ data collection ကုမၸဏီမ်ား၊ ၎တို႔ႏွင့္ ပူးေပါင္းလုပ္ေဆာင္လိုသည့္ adware ကုမၸဏီ မ်ား၏ ခ်ဥ္းကပ္မႈမ်ားကို မ်ားစြာေတြ႕ႀကံဳခံရေၾကာင္း ေျပာၾကားသည္။

Google ၏ ထိုextension ႏွစ္ခုကို ဖယ္ရွားသည့္ကိစၥရပ္သည္ Google ၎၏Chrome web Store policies ကို ဒီဇင္ဘာလအတြင္းupdate ျပဳလုပ္အၿပီး ေပၚထြက္လာျခင္းျဖစ္သည္။

ထိုသို႔ပိတ္ပင္တားျမစ္မႈသည္ နည္းပညာကုမၸဏီႀကီးျဖစ္ေသာ Googleက ၎၏user မ်ား အခြင့္ ေကာင္းယူအသံုးခ်မႈမ်ားကို တင္းတင္းက်ပ္က်ပ္ ကိုင္တြယ္ေျဖရွင္းသြားမည္ဟု အဓိပၸာယ္သက္ေရာက္ သည္။

Google removes two extensions from Chrome Web Store for serving unwanted ads

Robin Sinha, January 20, 2014Google has removed two extensions for its Chrome browser from the web store. The extensions were removed after it was found the software included certain codes which injected ads in browsing sessions in a way that violated the terms of service from Google.
The two extensions - Add to Feedly and Tweet This Page had less than 100,000 users, and were found to display unwanted ads to users. Amit Agarwal, who is the developer behind Add to Feedly extension, said in a blog post on Labnol that he sold the extension for a four-figure sum, but a month later, the new owners updated the extension, adding that code that silently injected the unwanted ads.
Ars Technica also reported that "Tweet This Page", the other extension found to be injecting adware by Google, was altered to do so after it had been purchased. According to WSJ, Google removed the two extensions after being contacted by it.
