留學美國的華裔美女楊鑫榮，昨晚在緬甸國內選美脫穎而出，將代表緬甸參加下個月在莫斯科舉行的2013年環球小姐大賽，成為緬甸50多年來首位環球小姐參賽佳麗。
楊鑫榮2009年曾拿下金鳳凰杯中華小姐大賽亞軍。
楊鑫榮代表緬甸參加環球小姐大賽，反映軍事統治結束後的緬甸政治與社會都出現大幅轉變。緬甸上一次舉行環球小姐國內選拔是在1961年。
25歲的楊鑫榮昨天深夜奪得后冠時說：「我現在覺得自己成為歷史一部分，覺得自己就像士兵，為國家與人民效力。」
緬甸2011年結束數十年的高壓軍事統治，向全世界開放之後，對女性穿著的尺度放寬。
